Anything can be art, and anything can be beautiful, and to suggest otherwise is to invite accusations of elitism or cultural imperialism or some other -ism.

This idea has been institutionalized so thoroughly that it has permeated ever facet of our culture, from painting, to music, to architecture and everything in between. Yet something quite ironic has happened as a result.

We have more art than ever before, and less beauty. More expression, and less meaning. More freedom, and less mastery.

This is not a coincidence, and it is not the result of some cultural accident. It is the direct consequence of a single foundational assumption that Beauty is something we invented, rather than being a Universal Principle.

In other words, it comes from the materialistic assumption that the quality of Beauty is found in paint pigments, chiseled marble and the sounds of the symphony instead of a universal quality which is extended to a product from the Mind of its creator.

Nowhere is that reconsideration made more available, or more explicit, than in one of the most overlooked texts in the history of aesthetics: The Tibetan Book of Proportions.

What is immediately striking about The Tibetan Book of Proportions is where it chooses to begin. It doesn’t begin with expression, with feelings, or with the inner life and struggles of the artist.

It begins and ends with proportion.

The foundational question is not “What do you feel?” but “What is the relationship?” Every figure, form, and gesture is governed by proportion, and not arbitrary or personal preference but a universal proportion.

The proportional relationships used to construct sacred figures in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition are not inventions. They are not even unique to Tibet, these universal proportions were used across the ancient world all the way back to the construction of the Egyptian pyramids and were rediscovered en-masse in the West during the Italian Renaissance.

These universal proportions are the same proportional relationships found in the architecture of the human body, in the patterns of natural growth, in the harmonic intervals that make music rhythmic and coherent.

That last parallel—music—is the one worth dwelling on.

The interval-ratios that create harmonic-balance in music are not matters of taste. An octave is not a feeling; a perfect fifth is not an opinion; the diatonic scale is not an expression of personal preference.

These are mathematical and geometrical relationships standing in exact proportional relation to one another. The physics of sound does not care about the listener’s subjective experience. It operates according to law, the Law of Balance. And the Tibetan system of proportion operates on precisely the same foundations, applying to visual form what music theory applies to sound.

This is the insight that modern art has systematically abandoned. When art divorces itself from Balance, it divorces itself from the underlying foundation of reality and falls into an unholy matrimony of mediocrity. The chaos that characterizes so much contemporary work is not profound; it’s as vacant and void of meaning as the thoughts of its creator because it has severed its connection to the eternal universal principles that gives form its meaning.

The only reason these morose meaningless monstrosities are brought to social prominence is because those that are attracted to them reflect their qualities.

Like attracts like.

To understand drawing through the lens of the Tibetan Book of Proportions and the masters of the Renaissance is to arrive at a completely different definition of what is taught in our institutions.

Drawing, in this framework, is not just a skill in the conventional sense and not just a set of techniques for rendering objects convincingly.

Drawing, and the arts as a whole, are disciplines for the training of our thoughts and actions to imitate God’s thoughts and creative actions as expressed in Nature for the purpose of transferring an IDEA from the intelligence of one mind to the intelligence of another—all art is a thought transference.

All of nature, from its most minute particle to its most mighty galaxy are composed of light waves. Light waves are divided into octave symmetries in the same proportions as our musical octaves—which are the same symmetries that divide white light into its spectrum colors which the painter wields to tell immortal stories.

When you create using balance and proportion as your guide, you are training yourself to see, and are learning to perceive things not as isolated objects but relationships of a whole.

Balance and proportion are epistemic tools for revealing Beauty, Knowledge and Truth. They are bridges between what is materially seen and what is spiritually KNOWN.

Art is not, strictly speaking, for creating pretty things; it is a mental (spiritual) practice. The greatest beneficiary of art is the artist.

Michelangelo, who understood this intuitively if not in these explicit terms, said that, “Art lives on constraint and dies of freedom.” It is a statement that sounds paradoxical until you understand what constraint actually means in the context that was laid out above.

Constraint is not limitation in the sense of restriction or deprivation; it is structure, the condition that allows anything to exist meaningfully at all. When you remove constraint, you remove relationship. When you remove relationship, you remove coherence. And when you remove coherence, what you have is no longer art in any substantive sense — it is randomness wearing art’s clothing.

The Tibetan system preserves constraint, and in doing so preserves Beauty. To draw within these proportions is to align yourself with REALITY—the eternally still qualities of Mind at REST.

That alignment produces something that transcends technical accomplishment. Art becomes a form of meditation in the most precise sense—a process of unfolding Mind-awareness, moving from distortion toward clarity, and of dissolving the illusion of chaos in the Reality of Unity.

Art, understood in this way, is not a hobby, and it is not something children do before they develop more serious interests. It is one of the most direct paths available to us for understanding how the spiritual Reality is structured materially.

To learn proportion is to learn how to see; to learn how to see is to learn how to recognize Love; and recognizing Love is the first step toward being Love by aligning one’s desires, thoughts and actions with it, which is as close to a definition of meaningful creative work as I know how to articulate.

The Tibetan Book of Proportions is not, at its core, teaching you how to construct iconographically correct figures. It is teaching you how to know Balance by being balanced, and once your Consciousness becomes aware of it, you cannot stop. You start to recognize it in music and in architecture, in natural forms and in human faces, and you also start to recognize, with equal clarity—when it is absent.

That negative capability—the ability to feel the absence of Balance as a kind of wrongness—is itself a form of knowledge that most people never develop, because they have been told since childhood that such judgments are merely personal preferences. For one of the things we were repeatedly force fed growing up was the mantra: don’t judge.

This is where the concept of co-creation begins to enter the consciousness of man-in-the-mass. When you create using Universal Principles as your structural foundation, you are not guessing. You are working as one with the Eternal Universal Mind that simulates our material-reality, and in doing so you step into a fundamentally different meaning of the creative act and whatever your concept of what God is.

You are not creating Love, Beauty, or Truth; you are unfolding those eternally existent qualities from within you. The artist, in this framework, is not an originator of Idea but an interpreter in something far larger than mere individual expression.

Most people will go on believing that art is subjective, that anything goes, that rules are for people who lack imagination. But that belief carries a cost that is rarely acknowledged: without structure, there is no mastery; without mastery, there is no depth; and without depth, there is no meaning- and without meaning we won’t remember it.

Do you remember the name of the modern performance ‘artist’ that stacked buckets of sand, and punctured holes in them until they toppled under their own weight?

I didn’t think so.

But you do remember Michelangelo, Leonardo, Beethoven and Shakespeare.

The Tibetan Book of Proportions offers an alternative to this impoverishment, not by promising freedom in the modern sense, but by offering something older and more valuable: constraint. And in that constraint, paradoxically, a genuine freedom emerges—not the freedom of doing anything, but the freedom that comes from working with Universal Law.

Before we dive in, I will post the link to the article below so you can read over it. Afterward, I will post the axiom in question and then go through Nicholas’ questions one-by-one.

AXIOM

It should be noted that this axiom was originally coined by Dr. Walter Russell, who during a 39 day and night period of cosmic illumination was made to know God’s processes of Creation. He would go on to re-write the periodic table and predict 5 unknown chemical elements which would later be isolated by attendees of his lectures on them.

I added the line: This is what God IS — as it was repeatedly uttered by Dr. Russell in his writings and I felt that it would add more depth of meaning to the axiom.

Let’s take a look at Nicholas’ challenges and questions:

Comment 1

No, this axiom is not the law which is referred to alongside Truth, Energy, and Love. There are in fact more, some of which I will state here: Balance, Idea, Desire, Purpose, Knowledge, Beauty, Rhythm, Inspiration, Light, etc.

Before we define what these terms are at the end of this section, it would be prudent to briefly describe what the God-Mind is and how it simulates our material universe.

Mind is not the brain and Mind is not thought. Thought is the product of Mind, and the product cannot create itself. Likewise, the material universe cannot be the creator of itself.

MIND is the dimensionless, vibrationless, motionless still white LIGHT of CAUSE.

The material universe is the dimensioned, vibrating, ever-changing divided spectrum lights of EFFECT.

Because Mind is dimensionless it has no form, and because it is vibrationless and motionless it doesn’t move. Because it doesn’t move, it doesn’t change. Because it doesn’t change, it Eternally IS.

In other words, Mind is the still fulcrum and the material universe is the moving lever.

This is an important analogy to keep in mind.

A lever cannot move on its own. It MUST have a still fulcrum so that it may express movement. The energy-power of the lever to move therefore must reside in the still fulcrum and not in the lever.

This is true everywhere in the universe. All motion is centered by and controlled from points of stillness. Your body could not move it it weren’t for the fulcrum points at each of your joints.

A hurricane is motion centered by a point of stillness. The closer the motion gets to its centering fulcrum the more it is able to express the power of its centering fulcrum by increased wind speed.

So what is Love, Idea, Truth, Energy, Law, Balance, Beauty, etc.?

They are the eternal, unchanging Qualities of Mind at Rest.

Mind is a dimensionless, undivided equilibrium of rest — it is a UNITY.

Being a unity, all of the above words, in actuality all mean the same ONE thing, but you and I, require different connotations in order to function in daily life.

We have all heard the sayings: Love IS Power, Beauty IS Truth, Truth IS Power, Knowledge IS Power, Love IS Law etc.

We intuitively know the above to be true, but couldn’t explain why.

Let’s perform a thought exercise.

Try to imagine a wheel. Each spoke of the wheel being one of the qualities mentioned. The Reality is that all of these seemingly separate qualities extend from their centering hub (fulcrum).

That unity of all of the seemingly separate qualities of Mind are ONE in their dimensionless crucible — which we simply refer to as God.

These qualities are IDEAS or IDEAls — for the only tools Mind has to work with are Ideas and thoughts.

In order to understand how God simulates his Idea-qualities we must have a basic understanding of the wave.

Light-waves are God’s sole tool which is used to construct the material universe.

God-Mind is still unconditioned WHITE LIGHT. The purpose of Mind is to Think and Thoughts are light-waves. When God thinks, he divides his stillness (fulcrum) into oppositely conditioned spectrum lights which comprise the red and blue half of the electromagnetic spectrum (the lever). This creates polarization along with MOTION, and with it, all of its opposite expressions. I will name some:

positive-negative, male-female, compression-expansion, heating-cooling, polarization-depolarization, gravitation-radiation, etc.

God compresses light waves into small volumes to simulate corpuscular matter and expands light waves into large volumes to simulate space.

In other words, God, the FATHER-MOTHER, divides the UNITY of the ONE ETERNAL IDEA of FATHER-MOTHER love into father AND mother unit pairs which eternally interchange with one another electrically in order to simulate their UNITY in Cause.

We Define God:

God is Light; God is Love. God in inexorable Law. God is the invisible, motionless, sexless, dimensionless undivided and unconditioned WHITE magnetic Light of Omnipotent, Omniscient and Omnipresent MIND.

Love is the ecstasy of peace and rest in the balanced LIGHT of all-knowing, which IS God. The EXPRESSION of love is balanced giving and re-giving.

God has One IDEA, DESIRE, PURPOSE, ACTION and LAW:

• His one IDEA is His unity in FATHER-MOTHER Love

• His one DESIRE is to think action, and rest from action, in sequential intervals

• His one PURPOSE is to think his Knowing of what He is, and what he Knows into imaged forms

• His one ACTION is to Give

• His one LAW is that what he gives MUST be BALANCED by equal re-giving

Question 1

The connotation of the above question in the phrases ‘must come to know’ and ‘learn’ imply an adding to of knowledge from an external source. This thought pattern arises from modern neuroscience and psychiatry which thinks consciousness and mind is located in the brain. We need to understand what consciousness actually is before continuing because modern science confuses consciousness with the electrical senses of the body.

What is consciousness?

Consciousness is the Mind-Quality of awareness, or more specifically Mind-Awareness or recognition of its qualities. The Buddhists call this mindfulness.

We are not unknowing as was claimed.

Every human on Earth is conscious of the Mind-Qualities of Balance, Idea, Desire, Purpose, Knowledge, Beauty, Rhythm, Inspiration, etc.

In fact, this awareness of that spirit within us is the one thing which differentiates between us and animals.

No human is unknowing of them as was said — for to be unknowing of them they would have to have absolutely zero concept of them. God’s omniscience centers us in all of its fullness — it is our birthright. The only difference between us lies in our varying degrees of awareness of them — but we are all aware of them. This is the difference between the average person, the genius, and the mystic.

Question 2

How can one Mind be united and not united at the same time?

This is a fantastic question which was answered prior, but I will briefly summarize it again.

There are no separate Minds, there is only One Mind.

Mind is the undivided, uncreated changeless qualities of God’s eternal equilibrium — the undivided white Light of Cause which constitutes the spiritual universe of REST.

Mind-thinking seemingly divides this equilibrium into two equal and opposite conditions of polarized pairs of male and female bodies which constitute our universe of Motion.

The word seemingly is very important. A unity cannot be divided but it can seem to be. Balanced-Unity cannot be divided, but it CAN be simulated in motion. When we stand erect, we are simulating undivided balanced. When we begin to walk, we divide that balance into two equal and opposite unbalanced conditions which interchange with one another to simulate the unity of their Cause.

The question which was asked was how Mind can be united and not united simultaneously. This question arises again, from a currently held wrong definition by neuroscience of what Mind is. It assumes that Mind is a physical thing and has some ‘form’ that it can be ‘united’ or ‘combined’ with another to merge into a unity.

The mistake lies in the belief that thought is the Mind when it is but the product of Mind.

The Thoughts of God are electrically polarized male and female pairs which unite in order to simulate their UNITY which is forever at rest.

…cause implies something prior and then something coming forth from it: how can Mind, as all Mind is one, be prior to itself.

This question eludes to time. Time is a function of motion. Without motion there is no time.

Mind is dimensionless, vibrationless, and motionless — which means it is TIMELESS and ETERNAL.

Mind simulates Eternity by eternally Thinking in concentrative-decentrative pulsations.

The answer to the second paragraph comes from the misunderstanding of Thought and Mind being One instead of Thought being the ever changing Effect and Mind being the unchanging Cause.

There is only One Mind in the Universe, there are, however an infinite amount of thought-expressions which extend from that Mind.

I will endeavor to answer this geometrically. A point on a paper symbolizes a dimensionless point. Geometrically and mathematically one can draw an infinite amount of radii to the circumference of a circle from that point.

Similarly, an infinite amount of radii extend from a point to the outer shell of a sphere.

As such, an infinite amount of thought-expressions are able to be extended from their dimensionless source to simulate their source — but the thought simulations are not the REALITY of the QUALITIES which they simulate.

The Mind-Idea of Beauty for example has an infinite amount of expressions in painting, sculpture, architecture, music, etc.

The Mind-Idea of Love is expressed in many ways such as man-woman romance, a woman caring for a child, a neighbor helping neighbor or a soldier reaching into a foxhole to help a fallen friend.

When you say: “In order to save yourself from this, you need to say that our minds participate in Mind, thus still being one.” — it would be correct if you meant thought instead of Mind.

In other words: Our thoughts participate in THOUGHT, but are One in their Mind-Source.

Question 3

If God is Mind and nothing can exist outside of God, Mind, then, since sense-stuff has nothing to do with Mind, and thus exists outside of Mind, it cannot exist. Therefore, matter is non-existent.

This is Correct, and based on the above explanations, it does not refute the axioms.

Question 4

This question is in reference to this in the article:

Jesus' illumination into full god-awareness as Mind, was misinterpreted by early thinkers who heard Jesus’ story via word-of-mouth. The misinterpretation by primitive and superstitious thinkers was that the mortal body of Jesus was divine, instead of His immortal Mind.

By early thinkers I meant the men who wrote and codified the Gospels.

In modern interpretation, this passage is framed as a moment of profound intimacy, occurring just before the Passion, in which Jesus assumes the role of an intermediary between God and humanity — consecrating himself on behalf of his followers in order to enable the world to believe in his mission.

For millennia, the words of Jesus have been read, recited, translated, translated again, translated again and institutionalized under the assumption that their meaning has been accurately grasped, yet the persistent fragmentation of interpretation across cultures and denominations suggests otherwise.

Entire theological systems have been constructed upon is sayings, particularly those found in John 17, where Jesus speaks repeatedly and with unmistakable emphasis on UNITY.

So how is it that Christianity is so disunited? How is it that the unity of Jesus’ message has been divided into over 47,000 denominations of Christianity worldwide — all with their own interpretations of what he meant?

If the meaning were self-evident, such outcomes would not persist, and if the language were merely metaphorical, its endurance across millennia would not carry the same weight of authority.

Jesus speaks of unity as something precise, inherent, and universal.

The cause of this problem, therefore, lies within a long-held wrong meaning of the word: UNITY

AXIOM

According to the above axiom, what can be sensed with our senses belongs to the unreal—not in the sense of being false, but in the sense of being transient, temporary, and constantly changing.

God is the only reality — and being reality, it must be unchanging and eternal.

In other words, when Jesus entered The Kingdom of Heaven, he became aware of the UNITY of his Mind-SELF and GOD and that it was the eternally still and motionless FULCRUM from which his sensed-body — along with the entire material universe — extended.

Just like a seesaw, your Mind, is the still fulcrum which commands your body. It is impossible for a lever to move without its fulcrum.

The fulcrum of Your Mind-SELF is the eternal YOU.

Your body is the transient instrument which your Mind-SELF uses to express the qualities of what it is, and just as it is impossible for a lever to move without its fulcrum, so too is it impossible for you to move your body without commands from your Mind-SELF.

Your body expresses the qualities of its Mind-source in an almost infinite amount of expressions. Your body expresses balanced stillness while recharging during a night of sleep in order to express energy through motion upon waking. You express balance by standing up straight, and also by dividing that balance rhythmically in order to walk. You express love by giving a helping hand to you neighbor, caring for a sick child or giving words of encouragement to the downtrodden.

The above quality of Balance is God’s LAW unexpressed. The quality of BALANCE expressed is accomplished through Rhythmic balanced interchange — which is exactly what walking expresses, along with your breathing cycle and heartbeat.

God’s LAW of Rhythmic Balanced Interchange, when applied to human relations, is known as:

THE GOLDEN RULE

The foregoing has eluded to an as-of-yet unknown Truth which leads us to the right meaning of what Jesus meant in The High Priestly Prayer:

When Jesus speaks of His Unity with God and Ours, he is not consecrating himself on behalf of his followers in order to enable the world to believe in his mission, and he is most certainly not using it as a metaphor.

He is using it literally. Jesus was ONE with God not because his body was divine, but because he had full conscious realization of his UNITY with the God-Mind.

He realized that there is only One Mind and we are all that ONE Mind.

The true meaning of his prayer, therefore, was:

Jesus' illumination into full god-awareness as Mind, was misinterpreted by early thinkers who heard Jesus’ story via word-of-mouth. The misinterpretation by primitive and superstitious thinkers was that the mortal body of Jesus was divine, instead of His immortal Mind.

This error — whether intentional or not— has led many intelligent, well-meaning people who know basic physics, to believe that Jesus’ physical body could phase through the walls of a tomb.

Thus, when Jesus says:

“That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us…”

“…that they may be one, even as we are one”

and

“I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one”

— he is not describing a relational hierarchy between separate entities, but a UNITY OF BEING in which the distinction between oneself and other collapses at the level of CAUSE.

And that CAUSE is within you at the very CORE OF WHO YOU ARE.

They pierced beyond the surface of reality—beyond motion, form, time and beyond sensation of the electrical senses—and have perceived what lies behind it.

They have looked Beyond the Cosmic Veil.

The Genius

There have only been a handful of geniuses since recorded history, however, these mighty few have given us our world culture in the arts and sciences.

Michelangelo, Edison, Tesla, Aristotle, Aurelius, Musashi, Raphael, Goodyear, Einstein, Mozart, Bach, Twain, Tolkien, Archimedes, Newton, Imhotep and many more.

Many of us wonder what makes the genius different from us and think… what do they have that I don’t? I believe all of us have genius within us, but it must be awakened. Genius unfolds slowly, life to life, and is hastened only through a deep driving desire to express oneself creatively.

Most of us think through our senses to the outside world. We observe material reality, record sensed effects upon our brain, and then try and reason them into logical conclusions. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t.

Geniuses don’t think this way.

Geniuses don’t think outwardly from the senses — think think inwardly toward Mind (God.)

The only difference between the genius and the average man is their measure of God-awareness.

Geniuses have begun to see with inner vision the as of yet unmanifested forms of God’s imagining and Knowing, and hear and feel the immortal rhythms of God’s cosmic symphony with their inner ears—and then interpret God’s imaginings into immortal works of art, invention and symphony.

To the rest of humanity, who think they are their body and not their immortal Mind, the Kingdom of Heaven is as if it never were.

We are creators, and the first inklings of awakening genius in us is the desire for creative expression.

We can only create with our Mind — and the brain is not the Mind. The brain is the switchboard and recorder of electrical sensations broadcast to it by the senses.

“I do not rush into actual work. When I get an idea, I start at once building it up in my imagination. I change the construction, make improvements and operate the device in my mind. It is absolutely immaterial to me whether I run my turbine in thought or test it in my shop.” — Nikola Tesla

It is said that one must lose oneself in order to to find oneself. Put another way, one must become unaware and put aside one’s body so that they may become wholly Mind. By doing so, the genius begins to become aware of their divine Self and starts to working knowingly with God as a co-creator.

Genius is unfolded from the mind of man in two ways:

1. Anytime you behold a creation made by a genius in the fine arts, and you are re-inspired with their genius, you are illumined into the light of God-awareness to the degree of your inspiration. This is state is always accompanied by stillness and forgetfulness of one’s body while in rapture and awe.

2. The second way is achieved through meditation, of which the human race knows practically nothing about — not even the Buddhists, who only practice half of the cycle. Meditation means to commune with God, by becoming One with God in Mind, for the purpose of working knowingly with God. Meditation means to think inwardly toward your Mind rather than outwardly through your senses.

Thinking outwardly develops our physicality and physical desires while thinking inwardly unfolds our spiritual qualities.

God-Mind is all there is it is a Unity. We do not have individual Minds.

God-Mind and your Mind are ONE.

Geniuses have found that inner stillness of mind to a greater degree than most by partially severing the electrical sensations from their consciousness.

There is another class of man, however, which lies beyond the genius. These rare individuals are able to fully sever the electrical sensations...

The Mystic

Even rarer than the genius is the mystic. The mystic is so rare in fact that perhaps only twenty or so have ever been born.

Of these, there have been a number of lesser illumined mystics. Their teachings and works have uplifted mankind in varying measures:

Socrates, Plato, Leonardo da Vinci, Beethoven, Paul, Lao Tzu, Plotinus, Confucius, Shakespeare, Walt Whitman to name a few.

Beyond these are the supreme mystics. They are the ones who have thus fully severed the electrical sensations of their body and become wholly Mind. In their Unity of Oneness in the light of all knowing with God they are given immortal and enduring messages of Love and Unity.

These supreme mystics have been the creators of great religions and have uplifted the countless millions who followed them.

I will name them:

the Buddha, Mohammed, the unknown writer of the Bhagavad Gita and Jesus of Nazareth and Walter Russell.

Of these, only the writer of the Gita, Jesus and Walter Russell were fully illumined. They were able to scientifically understand the principle of Love as God’s basis of creation.

They had omniscience to such a degree that they were able to fully comprehend their ONENESS and UNITY with God. All mystics say the same thing.

“Knoweth Me as I am, the very Truth… For in this world Being is twofold; the Divided, ONE; The Undivided, ONE. All things that live are ‘the Divided.’ That which sits apart, ‘The Undivided.’” — Ch. VII&XV, The Bhagavad Gita

When the mystic’s electrical senses sever from their synchronization with their centering consciousness, they become wholly Mind and are practically unaware of their body.

This state of mental ecstasy of unity with God has been called many things: the Illumination, the Bible refers to it as “being in the Light” or “being in the Spirit”. In Hinduism, its called “Brahmic Bliss”. Mohammed referred to it as Paradise. The Buddha called it Enlightenment.

And so we arrive at the great truth that underlies all of human history: that behind every masterpiece and every civilization-altering revelation, there was a someone who had learned — in some measure — to turn turn off the noise of the senses and listen to the silence of Mind.

The path from ordinary man to inspired man to genius, and from genius to mystic, is not a path outward into the world. It is a path inward — into the still, Undivided WHITE LIGHT from which all things emanate and to which all things return.

This is not a path reserved for the extraordinary few. It is the destiny of every soul, unfolding across lifetimes with the slow and certain rhythm of God’s cosmic pendulum. Each of us carries within us the seed of omniscience, omnipotence and omnipresence, waiting only for the warmth of sincere desire and the silence of a mind turned inward.

The geniuses show us what is possible when we begin to awaken. The mystics show us where the journey ends.

And the journey ends where it began — in the Light of Mind — the ONE.

Seek that LIGHT. It is the source of all that has ever been created, and all that ever will be.

It is who you truly are.

We talk about balance in the sense of keeping two opposite forces equal, such as work-life and mind-body.

Like a boy and a girl on a seesaw.

This is how the majority of people imagine the concept of balance.

But this is only one expression of it — and a limited one at that.

Balance actually has three expressions.

In today’s article, I want to focus on one of those expressions that is often overlooked, yet is the source of the other two.

After reading this, you will start to see it everywhere and begin to be able to apply it in all aspects of your life.

Balance as Unity.

Your Mind’s Relation to Oneness

Unity is Oneness.

Unity is the undivided center, from which two opposite levers of expression of that Oneness emerge.

Said another way, it is the FULCRUM from which both levers of the seesaw extend.

MIND is that center; it is the fulcrum.

THOUGHT is the lever which extends from the fulcrum of MIND.

The Purpose of Mind is to think. We all know this intuitively.

But what does Mind think?

Mind knows and thinks its one whole idea — CREATION ITSELF — and takes apart that ONE idea and seemingly divides it into an infinite amount of separate unit expressions of that idea.

That might sound confusing, but it actually isn’t.

Let me explain it this way: Everyone understands the concept - or the IDEA - of a book.

The Unity-IDEA of a book, however, has an infinite amount of individual expressions — Harry Potter, Treasure Island, Moby Dick, etc.

Similarly, the Unity-IDEA of mankind has an infinite amount of possible expressions — 8.3 billion of which are currently inhabiting this planet, all with two eyes, arms, legs, but yet no two exactly alike.

So What Does This Have To Do With You?

What is it that you, I, or anyone else on the planet does from the time they wake, until the time they go to bed?

From the moment we wake, we are always trying to fulfil some desire, be it physical or mental.

In order to fulfil our desire we must come up with an Idea for how to do so.

Every thought and action you take begins the same way:

With an IDEA — extended from desire.

This is the rhythmic structure of everything anyone does or creates:

The only difference in the fulfillment of one’s desire is the element of time — and how big one’s Idea is.

The idea of washing one’s hands can be fulfilled in a very short period of time.

The idea of a fully constructed building will take much more time.

We will see why in a bit.

Application of Unity

Lets apply our Idea → Thought → Action cycle to the original example I gave of the fulcrum and lever in order to construct a building.

Instead of a seesaw extending from its fulcrum, lets imagine two circles extending from a center.

The Unity-IDEA of our fully constructed building is that center.

Action is one circle.

Thought is the other.

Manifestation of any Idea requires a UNITY of thought and action.

Back to our building…

A building is made of bricks, in order to build a balanced and lasting structure, each brick must be placed perfectly so that each brick placed afterwards may be placed perfectly — if not, the structure will become unbalanced and topple.

With that idea in mind, we start the construction of our building.

We imagine (think) about placing our first brick as perfectly as we can and then take the actual action of placing the brick.

In order to place that brick perfectly, our action of placing it must perfectly mirror our thought of placing it.

If our action PERFECTLY MIRRORS its thought, then we have attained UNITY — like the two circles of a Ven Diagram merging into one.

Now we repeat the Idea → Thought → Action cycle again and again, brick by brick and we gradually see our IDEA manifest materially.

This is the process of giving a material body to a spiritual concept.

The structure will either be balanced or unbalanced according to how we have unified our THOUGHTS with our ACTIONS in accordance with our Mind-IDEA.

“Desire ye what ye will, and behold, it standeth before thee. Throughout the aeons it has been thine without thy knowing, e’en though thou has but just asked for it.

Sit thou not and ask, acting not, for unless thou reach out for thy desire it shall not walk thy way to thee, unaided by thy strong arms.

— Walter Russell, The Divine Iliad

The truth is, all products of ideas which we manifest have a residue of unbalance.

Talk to any composer, painter or film maker and they will always tell you that the immortal IDEA they had was always infinitely more perfect than the expression they were able to create — they always say they could have done a bit more.

Perfection, therefore, is not in the product which was created, but in our ability to mirror our product or outcome with our original Mind-Idea.

Simply stated, CAUSE is perfect, but is usually imperfectly worked out.

What Causes Unbalance or Disunity?

Unbalance is caused when:

• our thought forms don’t mirror its IDEA

or

• our actions don’t mirror our thoughts

There are many reasons for this, some within our control and some outside of our control.

Perhaps the project you worked on at work didn’t turn out the way you wanted because you didn’t sleep the night before because you had too many drinks and your thoughts were off.

You attempted to draw a beautiful picture from an idea you had, but lack the understanding of the techniques of linear and aerial perspective.

Maybe while writing the latest chapter in your novel the power goes out but you forgot to save it.

Doubts, fears and all other negative thoughts will also cause unbalance — sometimes to the point of never even beginning to start in the first place.

A Powerful Idea

Balanced-unity is something you maintain moment to moment.

It is maintained by ensuring that your ACTIONS mirror your THOUGHTS and your THOUGHTS mirror your IDEA — this is what unity is.

Every moment of your day presents you with an opportunity for making your dreams a reality.

A moment-to-moment awareness of your IDEAls and their expression through thought and action, enables you to correct imbalances as they arise—before they prevent the fulfilment of your desires.

POWER lies in CAUSE and CAUSE means IDEA. Those three words are ONE. They are all qualities of God (Mind). They all mean the same thing, the only difference being the connotations we ascribe to them.

During that time, I have had a front-row seat to how modern education operates, not only in theory, but in practice, day after day, across thousands of students.

And what has become increasingly clear to me is this:

Modern education does not teach students how to think.
It teaches them how to remember and repeat.

This is not a criticism of teachers. Most are doing the best they can within the system they have been given. It is a criticism of the structure itself, because the structure determines the outcome.

When you step into a classroom today, what you see is painfully consistent.

Information is delivered, students are expected to memorize it, and then reproduce it under pressure. Once the test is over the information is immediately forgotten and is replaced by the next set of disconnected information.

The deeper issue is not the memorization itself, because having the ability to memorize is valuable.

It is the compartmentalization of knowledge.

Every subject is isolated from every other subject. Mathematics is taught as if it has nothing to do with music. Language is treated as something entirely separate from math and music. The arts are often ignored and are treated as ‘activities that kids do’ rather than a foundational practice of what makes us human.

As a result, students never learn to see what actually matters.

They do not learn to perceive the underlying principles, patterns and axioms that connect all knowledge.

And without that, there is no real understanding—only repeating.

Automatons repeat and cannot create.

The Fix

At one point in history, education was organized around a very different idea—The Trivium and Quadrivium.

The Trivium was comprised of grammar, logic and rhetoric.

The Quadrivium was comprised of geometry, arithmetic, music and astronomy.

* Let it be noted that I group all mathematics together—arithmetic, algebra, calculus, trigonometry, etc.—and use the term mathematics as a general term.

The Trivium and Quadrivium were not simply a random collection of subjects. They were a coherent system designed to train the mind to recognize patterns, to think clearly, and to express that thinking logically and precisely.

What makes this system powerful is the way the different subjects echo one another.

Each discipline reinforces the others.

Each reveals the same principles from different angles.

Modern education has lost that sense of unity.

Music once tied everything together.

Music is neglected in modern education, but music theory should be taken just as seriously as mathematics—because it is mathematics in space and time.

"I often think in music. I live my daydreams in music….music and physics are just different ways to understand the world.”

Poetry is mathematics and music applied to language.

The same mathematical ratios that create harmony in music and poetry were intentionally used by architects to construct buildings that have endured for centuries.

It is the same principles expressing themselves over and over again through different mediums.

If we are serious about restoring education, we do not need to invent something new. We need to recover what worked — and refine it.

One of the most important corrections we can make is to reunite mathematics and geometry.

These are not separate disciplines. They are two expressions of the same thing. In ancient times, geometry and math were inseparable—geometry was math.

Mathematics is difficult to visualize, but geometry is mathematics expressed in form.

When these are taught separately, students struggle. When they are taught together, understanding becomes intuitive. The student no longer memorizes formulas—they begin to see relationships.

A New Pillar For The Quadrivium

After arithmetic, mathematics and geometry are combined it leaves the Quadrivium with only three subjects.

There is another subject which must take the place of the fourth pillar.

Academic drawing.

We all know drawing is the foundation of painting, sculpture and architecture.

But how does drawing help in mathematics, you ask?

When studying trigonometry in school, for example, did you ever get frustrated because you couldn’t visualize what you were doing?

Remember sine, cosine and tangent and the seemingly meaningless parabolas (those curved lines) your scientific calculators spat back at you? Those parabolas were describing ellipses.

What IS trigonometry?

Trigonometry is the study of how angles generate proportion, motion, and form— beginning with triangles, extending through circles, and ultimately describing curved geometries such as the ellipses of spheres and cones.

When a student learns how to constructively draw a sphere or a cone and section it, they are no longer dealing with abstract concepts. They are constructing a visualization of the abstract concepts they are studying and de-mystifying it.

Drawing trains the mind and the eye to see structure.

And once a student can see structure, they can begin to understand it.

Academic drawing is the shore where the abstract meets the concrete.

Here are some of my personal geometric constructive drawings I did while studying academic drawing.

Through academic drawing, the abstract concepts within mathematics stop being confusing symbols on a page and become observable realities.

This ties into one of the other pillars of the Quadrivium—astronomy.

How?

Planetary orbits are calculated using trigonometry because all planetary orbits are elliptical.

Additionally, trigonometry is one of the tools we use the calculate satellite trajectories.

What modern education lacks is not information.

We have more information available than at any point in history.

What it lacks is unity.

We need to return to a system where subjects are not taught in isolation, but as parts of a unified whole.

We need to teach students how to see the unifying principles which weave their golden threads through every subject.

We need children to see the world as a unified whole again instead of hyper focusing on its individual parts.

Modern education monumentally fails at this.

If we continue on the current path, we will produce students who can memorize and repeat many things but understand very little, who can pass tests but cannot use that knowledge to create anything.

If we restore these principles, we will begin to produce something else entirely.

Genius.

I moved to Japan from the United States in 2010 when I was 25 in order to teach English.

Originally, I was supposed to move to Japan in the spring of 2011, however an Assistant Language Teacher’s (ALT) mother became ill and he had to return to Canada.

Upon returning from a family vacation to South Dakota, I received a phone call from my new company (in Japan) asking if I could be in Tokyo for training in two weeks.

No problem. I packed my bags, said my goodbyes and off I went.

I arrived in Tokyo on August 15, 2010.

After my initial two week training, I was given a shinkansen ticket and shipped off to Iwate Prefecture, roughly a 2 hour bullet train ride from Tokyo and would call the small town of Senmaya my home for the next year — or so I thought.

Senmaya (千厩) actually means 1,000 (千) horse stables (厩). I came to find out that the town of Senmaya used to be where horses were raised for the samurai class, hence the name.

One of my fondest memories was taking my Suzuki 2-wheel drive compact car up Mt. Murone at dusk.

From the top of that mountain, I would gaze upon some of the most beautiful night skies I had ever seen — which would only be outdone by the night sky I would see the following March.

The day before the earthquake I actually took off, and took the opportunity to take my girlfriend (at the time) to the town of Kesennuma, which was about a 20 minute drive away.

During our drive there, a 6.0 earthquake struck. When we arrived at the parking lot to Hotel Pearl City Kesennuma there was a massive boulder in the parking lot which had fell from up above…foreshadowing the events to come.

Before going to the hotel, we went to the docks.

We were doing our best to skip rocks on the water next to the boat which you see pictured below.

March 11, 2011

That morning started out like most others. Though on this particular day I had forgotten to set my alarm and I woke up late and had to rush out the door.

I was running low on gas, and normally would have had my tank filled, but I thought that I had enough to get to school, so I would just fill it up on my way home.

Needless to say, that never came to fruition…

Despite being low on gas, I would not let it spoil my morning routine — a prompt stop at a combini (convenience store) to purchase a salmon onigiri and a coffee — the breakfast of champions.

I worked as an Assistant Language Teacher in two high schools and both had their graduation the week prior and I had no classes that day.

March 11th was a Friday and was the last day of school that year. (Japanese schools run from April to March)

Around 2:46pm I was in the teachers room reading a book waiting for the day to end.

Ikeda-sensei, who sat next to me, was going over some papers and scribbling some notes. Out of the corner of my eye I noticed her stop writing. She snapped her head at me and our eyes locked.

Earthquake….she said.

I am not sure how many of you have been in a earthquake but the sound of an approaching earthquake sounds kind of like a train—mainly from everything shaking as it approaches.

I was on the 2nd out of four stories and the entire building began to shake. All of the staff in the teachers room and I immediately stood up, bracing ourself on whatever we could.

The lights hanging from the ceiling swayed back and forth puncturing holes into the ceiling before falling to the ground.

The windows to the school pulsated in and out, in and out…and to this day I have no idea how they didn’t shatter.

My school was lucky, because the high school in the town where I lived (Senmaya High School) had all of its windows blown out.

The earthquake would come in 3 waves, the 2nd being the worst. I can see it in my minds eye to this very day like it was yesterday.

All of the teachers faces frozen in time in my memory with the most terrified looks on their faces.

But it was just getting started…

After the first wave hit things seemed like they would die down.

But the then the 2nd wave hit…and none of us were ready for it.

Until this day, I have never seen a more awesome display of power as I saw that day.

Computers were thrown from desks, and the shaking was so bad that it cause the drawers to open and all of the teachers’ files to shake out of them onto the floor.

Storage cabinets were tossed and their contents dumped onto the ground.

The giant Xerox copy machines in the copy room were flung across the room and through the walls as they didn’t weigh anything.

It was as hard to avoid getting hit with debris as it was to stand up.

This video shows what no words of mine can convey and was filmed in Sendai Airport just to the south of me…

Teachers were screaming and some were crying.

Part of me wanted to run to the first floor and get out of the building, but I realized that the entrance to the school was an automatic glass door — and I wasn’t about to take my chances getting shredded by glass.

Everything is still in slow motion in my mind to this day.

During all of this something profound happened.

I have never told anyone this until now, but I heard a voice that day.

That voice came from within me and it said: “Fear not, for you shall be unharmed.”

It was spoken not in words, but in essence.

I never ended up needing the water, and thank God the building didn’t come down.

The March 11th earthquake would end up lasting about 5 or 6 minutes, but I can assure you, it felt like an eternity.

After the shaking from the 3rd wave subsided I took some pictures from my flip phone which you can see below.

Afterwards, all the teachers and students who were in clubs gathered in the parking lot.

Snow began to fall.

Massive aftershocks would continue to hit and I remember watching a 30 ft radio tower which was on the top of the hill where my school was, whipping back and forth, the tip almost touching the ground.

Kudos to whoever built that because I still don’t know how it didn’t break.

In fact, if that earthquake took place in any other country where the building codes weren’t up to par with earthquake regulations, I have no doubt that I would have died that day.

In the distance, I watched mountains jiggle like jell-o molds.

The trees swaying on those mountains always reminded me of the tiny hairs on my arms moving back and forth while under water. That is the best way I can describe it.

As we gathered in the parking lot, one of the teachers who owned a convertible took the top off of it and turned his car on.

Many cars in Japan actually have TVs built into the consoles.

Gradually we started to see the images of the tsunami starting rolling in.

Although I didn’t see the tsunami, I could hear it. It sounded like the sound of the ocean that you can hear from the beach parking lot, only slightly fainter.

Many of my student began crying.

I thought they were just devastated by what they were seeing, but it would turn out that many of my students were from one of the towns that they were being shown images of, Ofunato.

Many of their parents died.

I will never forget watching as groups of students were packed into teachers cars (who lived in the same town) and drove off only to arrive at what you see below.

As I drove home in my car with no gas, I thought about how lucky I was to be alive.

The roads were cracked in half and I barely made the 15 min drive back to Senmaya.

Upon arriving the scene look like it was taken right out of a war movie.

Power poles were snapped in half and power lines lay in the streets. Practically every shop had its windows blown out.

As I reached my apartment’s parking lot my car started to stutter and promptly ran out of gas as I was backing it into my spot.

The building next to my apartment was a furniture warehouse which cracked in half and had furniture pouring out of it.

I was in my apartment all of 5 minutes when an aftershock it and it rained drywall on me.

I would end up living the next 2 weeks or so in my compact car with no heat.

It was very, very cold.

That said, during those nights living in my car I would wake up to aftershocks, heart pounding and unable to sleep. The power to all of northern Japan had been knocked out and I had never seen a night sky as beautiful and clear as I did during those 2 weeks.

Kesennuma, the town I mentioned before you might remember from the news. It was the town that was on fire on the news. Even when I woke up in the middle of the night, when I would look out the the east I could see, and smell, Kesennuma on fire. The fires were so intense, the horizon, from my perspective looked like dawn.

But a mans gotta eat…

Luckily, I had made friend with a local soba (buckwheat) noodle shop owner and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Chida. They were kind enough to invite me every morning, noon and evening to the parking lot of their shop (right around the corner from my apartment) where they made me food.

If you happen to be in Senmaya, be sure and stop at his shop.

In fact, I had more food than I knew what to do with. Every time someone passed me by while I was sitting in my car or walking in town, they would hand me a small bag of food. Bananas, cup ramen, chips. I found myself doing the same, because there was no way I could have eaten all of it.

After two weeks, phone service began.

I got a call from one of my co-workers, Alana.

If you are out there, hi Alana!

She picked me up and drove me back to her and her boyfriend’s place in Ichinoseki (about 30 min away).

It was there that the TV came on and we learned about the Fukushima Power Plant melting down.

We quickly left as I calculated that the winds would start to blow toward our location as spring started.

That turned out to be correct as the school I was working at found radiation hot spots around campus in the following months.

Long story short, we ended up driving through a blizzard in Akita Prefecture on our way to Akita Airport, the only operating airport in northern Japan.

I took a flight to Nagasaki where I stayed with Alana’s college friend for a month before being transferred to Oita Japan, where I would work the next 7 years.

I had always thought it ironic that I had sought refuge from the radiation of a nuclear disaster in Nagasaki of all places.

But it wouldn’t be my last earthquake…

5 years later, in 2016, I would be in the 7.0 Kumamoto earthquake.

But that is a story for another day…

Bread is one of the oldest religious symbols in human history.

In Christianity, it becomes central.
“Give us this day our daily bread.”
“I am the bread of life.”
”Then the Lord said to Moses, “I will rain down bread from heaven for you…”

Bread appears again and again as sacred nourishment.

But bread is not merely physical food.

Bread is a symbol.

And like all true symbols, it points beyond itself, to something much deeper and more transformative.

First, let’s get back to basics.

What is it that you, I or anyone does from the time we wake, until the time we lay our head down to sleep?

Simple — we conceive an Idea — think that idea into thought patterns and thought images — and then take physical action to manifest our idea in our environment.

Idea → Thought → Action → Idea…

The basic formula holds true whether we are talking about picking up food from the grocery store or building a multimillion dollar business.

We are mental beings, our bodies are the instruments we use to express our Ideas and Thoughts in the material world, no matter what form that expression takes.

So where does bread fit into all this I bet you are wondering…

First, we must discard some old primitive concepts and replace them with new ones.

What is the Mind?

The Mind is NOT the brain.

Mind is the dimensionless, changeless QUALITIES of God’s eternal equilibrium:

LIGHT — LOVE — BEAUTY — TRUTH — KNOWLEDGE — IDEA — POWER

Mind/God is a unity. The qualities above all actually mean the same thing in essence, however, we must use different connotations so that we may express different concepts and different ideas. Knowledge IS power afterall…

An analogy to help exemplify what I mean would be that of a wheel. Each of those seemingly separate qualities could be likened to spokes on a wheel.

The all appear to be separate, but in fact all extend out of, and from, their SOURCE in the hub in the center of that wheel.

At the very, very center of that hub is a dimensionless point which everything is rotating around.

Two-dimensionally, that dimensionless point can be symbolized as a dot on a piece of paper, for example.

Three-dimensionally, that concept is expressed as a sphere.

In the day to day lives of the ancients, the smallest representation of a spheroid is of course — a seed.

This is where the symbol of bread comes in…

The SEED is a symbol for all of the qualities of that dimensionless point.

— one of which is DESIRE.

Desire is the energy-quality of Mind.

Desire can be divided into two categories: Mental (spiritual) and physical.

Every second of the day we are trying to fulfill some desire, be it physical, mental or both.

Desire -to make money - to express patience while standing in a long line - to build a strong body via exercise - or to pray to God to ask something of Him.

Desire is, in fact, the very foundation of prayer.

So what is bread?

Bread, in its simplest symbolic form, is many seeds ground together.

In other words, it is the sum total of all of your desires, UNIFIED.

When Christ says, “I am the bread of life,” the meaning is not that of physical food.

— BREAD is a symbol for the desire God extends to us for the purpose of working with Him moment to moment and day to day.

The tragedy of modern interpretation is not that bread is seen as food.

It is that its deeper meaning has been forgotten.

We have been given freewill and as such, we should strive to balance our physical desires with our mental/spiritual desires.

You have been taught many things.

You were taught how to study, how to compete, how to succeed.

You were taught to manage your time, your finances, your responsibilities.

But you were never taught how to understand and manage the one force that drives all of it — DESIRE.

Every thought and action you have ever manifested began there.

Before the body moves or a word is spoken, the Mind must desire to do so.

Behind every achievement and every failure is a direction of desire.

And yet no one ever explained to you what desire — actually is.

It is not something to suppress like the Buddhists practice, because in order to suppress or stop desiring, one must desire to do so.

Desire is also not solely a physical expression between a man and a woman.

Desire is an eternal Mind-quality.

It is the sole motivator of the body and the initiating impulse of all motion.

Without desire, your body would not move. You would not rise in the morning. You would not build, pursue, speak, create, or pray.

To pray is to desire something enough to ask for it — from a divine source.

Desire is the cornerstone of prayer.

Desire as a PRINCIPLE is UNDIVIDED and eternal, its a unity.

Its expression is a polarity — or two seemingly opposed desires.

It can move toward the unfolding of our latent Mental — Spiritual — QUALITIES.

Or it can move toward the gratification of the senses and body needs.

Both are a necessity.

Desire is like a rope.

Through action, we pull our dreams out of the eternal world of imagination into fruition in the material world.

Every desire that aligns with one’s true purpose becomes a single strand in that rope.

One strand alone is weak.

But strand upon strand, woven together in the same direction, creates strength.

Say you wish to build a strong body.

Desire to eat healthy, exercise and rest (physical desires) must be combined with spiritual/mental ones, perseverance, patience, and the desire to multiply your WILLPOWER.

The more unified the strands, and the more your desires harmonize, the more powerful the rope.

But a life composed of opposing desires — unbalanced, conflicting, divided — is like a frayed rope.

One strand pulls toward discipline.

Another pulls toward sloth.

One pulls toward health.

Another toward Doritos.

The rope weakens.

Eventually, it breaks.

When that happens, people say they “lost motivation.”

They didn’t lose motivation.

They lost unity, they lost balance and stumbled.

I once knew a man who wanted mastery and comfort with equal intensity.

He was not lazy. In fact, he was disciplined — in bursts.

He would wake early, train hard, study deeply.

And then another, unbalanced desire would surface.

He wasn’t lacking desire.

He was dividing it too much.

Every year he set new goals. Every year he began again. Every year the rope frayed a little more.

Until one day he said, “I just don’t have the drive I used to.”

But the drive was still there.

It had simply been pulling in two directions.

When he finally chose one direction — not perfectly, but consistently — something changed.

The rope began to strengthen again.

His actions began to compound instead of canceling one another out.

Momentum multiplied as his self-created laziness subsided.

That is when I understood something simple.

Desire is not the problem.

It is the direction in which you project it.

Your daily portion of Desire is like a pile of gunpowder. It can be ignited and blown chaotically into all directions, or it can be packaged and funneled through the barrel of the gun of purposeful action so it can hit its target.

Desire is like water. A river with many branches is like a mind with many divided and unbalanced desires, but if one were to combine all of those branches into a single artery, the torrent of that mighty Unity would carve through a mountain.

When aligned with PURPOSE, strand upon strand, our Desire becomes strong enough to pull something eternal into the world.

The true art of life is learning what to desire, and how to balance one’s desires so one may bring one’s dreams to fruition.

Hear me out…

Let’s begin with the simplest idea in geometry:

The point. You know what it is conceptually, but have you really given thought to it and its implications?

A geometric point has no dimension.
No length.
No width.
No height.

It cannot be measured and cannot be divided.

It is without form, undivided and exists in equilibrium.

"A point is that which has no part" — Euclid

Because it has no dimension it has no form, because it has no form it is not subject to movement and because it does not move, it does not change.

We have a word for something that never changes.

ETERNAL…

The Nature of Cause

Cause is like that point.

We can express the idea of a point, but expressions are not the IDEA of their source.

How do we express the idea of a dimensionless point?

Simple — with a dot.

Draw a dot on a piece of paper. It doesn’t matter how small that dot is drawn, it will always have a measurable length, width, AND thickness.

If you were to zoom your vision to the side of the dot, you would see it thickness in equal proportion to the amount of ink or lead that came off the writing instrument.

Three-dimensionally we symbolize the point as a sphere, and in religious scriptures they symbolize it perfectly in the form of … a seed.

He told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field. Though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds come and perch in its branches.” — Matthew 13:31-32

What Jesus is actually saying is that the Kingdom of Heaven (Eternal Cause) is like a mustard seed (the point) and when planted, unfolds into material reality of our UNIverse.

Cause is a seed — not a material, quantitative seed…

Its a qualitative one.

What do I mean by that?

A seed does not contain branches, leaves, or fruit as things — but it does contain them as potential.

Within the dimensionless seed of Cause lies eternal qualities (which cannot be measured) such as Truth, Power, Law, Inspiration, Knowledge, Beauty, Love, Balance, Virtue, Desire, etc.

We cannot measure these qualities, but we KNOW THEM when we see them.

You may have come across the idea that we are living in a simulation — science is even beginning to prove this.

What they don’t yet understand is this:

• Reality is nothing more than the immeasurable Mind-qualities of Truth, Power, Beauty, Knowledge etc, which are never created, but are simulated by measurable quantities in the divided universe, of moving and vibrating electrical waves which we call matter.

“Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one.” – Albert Einstein

The Seeming Division of Cause

Effect begins when unity (balance) is divided — or seems to be.

Remember, Cause, being dimensionless cannot be divided.

Effect is the division of Cause into two unequal conditions.

This division produces:

• dimension

• vibration

• motion

• change

Cause is still. Effect moves.
Cause is unified. Effect is polarized.
Cause contains qualities. Effect expresses those qualities in moving quantities.

Effect is measurable because it is divided.

A new concept for deep contemplation:

The fulcrum and lever.

"Give me a lever long enough and a fulcrum on which to place it, and I shall move the world" — Archimedes

The lever of the seesaw which a boy and girl oscillate is supported by a fulcrum.

That fulcrum point is motionless.

In fact, the seesaw could not move if it wasn’t for its still fulcrum.

The one outstanding characteristic of all material phenomena is that they move/vibrate.

• our galaxy is hurling through the heavens

• our sun is orbiting around the center of our galaxy

• our planet is orbiting the sun

• our planet is rotating around its axis

• axial precession

• apsidal precession

• nutation

• the pulsations of your cells

• the movements of the molecules which comprise them

• the unfathomable vibratory speed of atomic and subatomic particles which compose all things

Just as the seesaw cannot move if it wasn’t for its fulcrum, this material universe of moving, vibrating quantities of matter could not move if it wasn’t for its eternal still Cause.

Mind is that fulcrum. The universe is the lever.

Mind is Cause. The universe is the effect.

Why This Matters

Modern thinking begins with Effect.

It studies motion.
It measures matter.
It analyzes change.

But it asks Effect to explain itself.

Its as though science thinks Symphony No. 9 wrote itself instead of being created in the Mind of Beethoven.

That is why everything appears complex, fragmented, and unstable.

Cause is simple. Effect is multiplied simplicity.

“True knowledge is knowledge by causes.” — Francis Bacon

So the question is: How does stillness create motion?

In Lesson 1 we stripped drawing down to its utmost simplicity.

• how to properly sharpen a pencil with a razor and how to finish the point with sandpaper.

• how to measure — without a ruler — using only a pencil.

• the line was introduced as the simplest and most powerful unit in drawing and then we learned how to divide it into halves, quarters, thirds and fifths.

Now, we will take the next logical step: constructing a square — aka a plane.

Why the Square Matters

The square is one of the most important geometric forms in drawing.

Learn to draw a square — and in future lessons, a square in perspective — and you will gain a visual grid, a way to “think” spatially on the page.

— which will unlock you ability to draw in 3-D (in perspective).

But drawing a true square freehand is more difficult than it sounds.

This lesson will teach you how to:

• Construct an accurate freehand square

• How to section a square

• How to duplicate the square and its sections

Part 1: Constructing the Square

Geometrically, a plane is:

“a flat, two-dimensional surface that extends infinitely in all directions.”

-Euclid, Elements

A square, essentially, is a section of a plane in which its length and width are equal and its 4 interior angles are all at 90°s to one another.

Remember, NO STRAIGHTEDGES!!!

Step 1: Draw Your Base Line

• With your pencil draw a vertical line (the bigger the better)

• From the top and bottom of that line draw draw two horizontal lines parallel with each other.

Step 2: Find the Horizontal Length

• Using the measurement technique in Lesson 1, measure the length of the vertical line and then mark it on one (or both) of the horizontal lines.

• Then, draw a vertical line from that measurement to complete the square

You now have a square.

— it should be noted that some of the lines may appear curved or not perfectly in proportion (as in the picture below).

This is due to the photo distortion of my phone’s camera — I can assure you they are straight.

The square is the basic form — like a block of marble.

From it we can sculpt out circles, triangles, pentagons and hexagons.

We will master these basic shapes — which won’t take long — and will then learn how to draw all of these forms in perspective.

From there, we will learn to draw the 3 dimensional version of a square — the cube.

But first, we need to learn how to section and duplicate the square in Part 2 and 3 of this lesson …

Pencil sharpeners are for children.

The first skill every artist should learn is how to properly sharpen a pencil

— the right way

Let’s do it…

1. Safely Removing Pencil Wood with a Razor

Proper pencil preparation gives you greater control over your lines. Follow these steps carefully:

• Safety First: Always push the razor away from your body and fingers.

• Hold your pencil firmly in your non-dominant hand, pointed away from you.

• With gentle pressure, shave small amounts of wood at an angle, exposing about half an inch of the graphite core.

• Rotate the pencil slowly, evenly removing wood on all sides.

• Stop once enough graphite is exposed, creating a long taper ideal for versatile drawing lines.

• The end result should leave you with a graphite length of about half an inch and exposed wood of about an inch.

***Make sure the lead isn’t too long, or it will break while drawing!

Always work slowly and deliberately — patience is key!

2. Sharpening Your Pencil with Artist's Sandpaper

Now let's achieve a sharp and precise drawing point:

• Hold the pencil almost flat against your sandpaper.

• Lightly rub the graphite core back and forth while rotating the pencil, forming a smooth, tapered point.

• Adjust pressure to refine the tip as needed.

• Check frequently to avoid breaking the graphite.

A finely sharpened pencil allows precise detail and accurate hatch marks.

Some artists like to sharpen multiple pencils at a time so they can work continuously.

Personally, I like using one.

Frequently sharpening my pencil allows my thoughts to unwind so I can decentrate and look upon what I am doing with a ‘fresh eye.’

However, few realize what is actually painted on that ceiling.

More than an artist, Michelangelo was a mystic — a man who encoded divine secrets into one of the most famous paintings of all time.

He encoded secrets about the unity of God and Man.

Once you see it, you’ll never look at Michelangelo — or the Sistine Chapel — the same way again.

The Sistine Chapel Is More Than Art—It’s a Map

At the center of the ceiling lies The Creation of Adam — arguably the most iconic image in Western art. God and man, fingers outstretched toward one another.

But what if this wasn’t just a biblical moment frozen in time?

What if it was a symbol of the human Mind, a diagram of divine connection, and a visual riddle pointing to something much, much deeper?

The Golden Ratio: A Divine Relationship

Let’s begin with the Golden Ratio.

It is not a number, but a relationship — roughly 1:1.618 — that shows up in flowers, shells, galaxies… and artistic masterpieces.

It’s the principle in Nature which harmonizes the parts and whole.

In The Creation of Adam, Michelangelo subtly overlays this ratio, not once, but three times.

• One horizontal

• One vertical

• And a third—hidden in plain sight—that divides the 9 panels of Genesis on the ceiling.

Each of these intersect exactly at the fingertips of God and Adam.

Michelangelo is saying something profound: that God and man are not separate, but unified.

Not just spiritually—but mathematically. Harmonically. Cosmically.

And this third Golden Ratio, which structures the panels themselves, suggests something even greater: that this unity extends beyond God and man — to all of creation.

The Brain of God

Here’s where things get even more beautiful.

Look closely at the swirling cloth around God in The Creation of Adam — the one enclosing God and His angels.

It’s a nearly perfect anatomical rendering of the human brain.

• The cerebrum

• The cerebellum

• The brainstem

They’re all there, painted as the folds.

This wasn’t accidental. Michelangelo, who performed many anatomical dissections, was intimately familiar with the structure of the brain — and used it as a symbol.

God isn’t floating in the sky.

He’s emanating from the Brain — his symbol for the Mind.

The 12 Angels = 12 Cranial Nerves

The symbolic layering continues…

Around God are 12 angels — gracefully arranged, forming the inner structure of the “brain.”

Twelve is not arbitrary.

There are 12 cranial nerves that connect the brain to the senses and muscles of the head and neck — our interface with the material world.

And in Revelation 21:12, we read:

"And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels…”

These 12 gates of heaven mirror the 12 gateways of perception.

The implication?

The Kingdom of Heaven is not above — but within.

The Golden Ratio Pops Up Again

Let’s return to the anatomy.

In Michelangelo’s rendering, God’s head aligns closely with a point on the skull known as the bregma. It is the junction where the frontal and two parietal bones fuse after birth.

This spot lies at a golden ratio between the nasion (the root of the nose) and the inion (the base of the skull).

The Thalamus: The Inner Chamber of God

We add another layer: the thalamus.

In Michelangelo’s painting, the place where God’s genitalia would be, is placed precisely where the thalamus would be in a cross section of the brain.

The symbolism of the genitalia in the act of creation should be self-evident.

It is also interesting to note that the genitalia is the geometric center of the male body and divides the body in half — musicians would call this an octave…but I digress.

In Greek, thalamus means "inner chamber."

In the Bible, the inner chamber is where revelations and communications take place with God.

It is the secret room of prayer — the Holy of Holies.

Golgotha And The True Meaning of Crucifixion

To understand how far this symbolism goes, we must visit a hill called Golgotha — where Christ was crucified.

Golgotha in the language Jesus spoke, Aramaic was Gulgūltā

— and means "place of the skull."

The true crucifixion did not take place on a hilltop — but within the inner chamber of the brain — within the skull.

— The Mind.

In other words, it is the story of the transformation of consciousness.

The same message Michelangelo encoded in the ceiling he painted decades later.

This brings us to Michelangelo’s revelation…

MEN and the Mind

The Proto-Indo-European root (men-) means “to think.”

It lives on in our language:

• MENtality

• MENtor

• MENtation

We are mental beings.

And Michelangelo’s message becomes clear:

God is Mind.

Man is Mind.

Man and God are One, united in a harmonic Unity

— a truth which would be revealed to us if we would just seek the kingdom within.

I had always been artistically inclined and upon entering college I began studying graphic arts — but left it for a degree in finance.

That was in 2009, and I didn’t draw from then until 2023.

In 2023 I had a rekindling of the artistic flame and looked high and low for a good art teacher who taught the classical approach.

I eventually found my teacher, who is a graduate of the St. Petersburg Imperial Academy of Arts — I am still currently his student.

Here are some of my drawings and sketches…

Are they perfect? No — but I was able to accelerate my drawing skills very quickly and I can help you do the same.

Why Perspective?

“Perspective is to painting what the bridle is to the horse, the rudder to a ship.”

— Leonardo da Vinci

Most beginners start by copying pictures or tracing outlines.

In this course we do not copy.

You’ll learn to draw with structure, from your own mind — and nature, just like Leonardo and the old masters did.

Your First Assignment: Gather Your Tools

Let’s keep things simple.

You don’t need a full studio.

Just a few essential tools will unlock an entire world of creative expression.

Here’s what you’ll need to get started:

1. HB Pencil
Not too hard, not too soft — the HB is the Goldilocks of pencils.

You don’t need the pencil sets with all the options — HB will do just fine.

Avoid mechanical pencils.

Any major brand will work fine (I’m not affiliated with any companies.)

Faber-Castell and Staedtler are solid choices — available at any art store.

2. Plastic Eraser + Kneaded Eraser
Two erasers, two roles:

• The plastic eraser is for clean, sharp corrections — great for clearing construction lines and edges.

• The kneaded eraser is a soft, moldable tool for lifting graphite gently. It’s perfect for subtle adjustments and softening marks without damaging the paper.

3. Paper
Don’t overthink this — start with any clean, smooth paper you have at home.

Standard A4 printer paper is perfectly acceptable.

As you progress, or if you have the money, it would be better to draw on larger paper — preferably A3 or A2 size.

4. Razor and Artist Sand Paper

Pencil sharpeners are for children.

The two tools below are how professionally trained artists sharpen their pencils.

I will show you how in the first lesson.

Classical Aegis
Imagine. Think. Create.

Quite literally.

Paracelsus, a physician, mystic, rebel, challenged the orthodoxy of both the Church and scholarship.

Some saw inert stars, he saw divine intelligence.

When doctors relied on ancient texts, he turned to Nature.

His magnum opus, Astronomia Magna (The Great Astronomy), was a bold cosmological vision, uniting the stars with the Soul, and medicine with mysticism.

This is his forgotten story…

A Rebel with a Burning Mission

Paracelsus was born Theophrastus von Hohenheim in 1493 and quickly earned a reputation as a defiant physician.

He rejected the blind reverence for Galen and Avicenna, the towering figures of medieval medicine, and publicly burned their works in a bonfire of symbolic protest.

To Paracelsus, real knowledge was not inherited through dusty scrolls — it came from the book of Nature itself. The Earth was alive with signs, the Heavens full of meaning.

His belief?

That healing was not merely chemical or physical, but cosmological.

What Is Astronomia Magna?

Written between 1537–1538, Astronomia Magna is Paracelsus' grand synthesis of alchemy, theology, medicine, and astrology. It is not astronomy as we understand it today, but a spiritual-scientific cosmology — a sacred science.

At its heart is one central principle:

The macrocosm (the universe) and the microcosm (the human) mirror each other.

This ancient idea is rooted in Hermeticism and shapes every page of the work. The stars above were not merely distant balls of gas — they were active participants and principles in the human condition.

The body, far from being a mere machine, was a reflection of the divine order.

The “Light of Nature” and the Spirit of the Stars

One of the most fascinating ideas in Astronomia Magna is that the human spirit is composed of star-substance. Just as the stars emit light, they also radiate divine knowledge.

Paracelsus calls this radiance the light of nature, which the human spirit attracts like a magnet.

He believed a healer could attune to this light and, through intuition and observation, diagnose not just physical ailments, but spiritual imbalances.

This idea anticipated what Carl Jung would later call the “collective unconscious.”

In fact, Carl Jung would name Paracelsus as one of his major influences.

Magic… But Make It Christian

Unlike many contemporaries who feared charges of heresy, Paracelsus defended magic as part of Christian doctrine.

He pointed to the Magi — the three wise men who followed a star to find Christ — as astrologers — which they were.

In fact, in Job 38:32, God asks Job:

Canst thou bring forth Mazzaroth in his season?

Mazzaroth is a Hebrew word meaning ‘constellations’ or ‘zodiac.’

To him, magic was not demonic manipulation but divine participation: a way to read and flow with the wisdom embedded in the cosmos.

Healing with the Stars: A New Medical Cosmology

Paracelsus applied his astral philosophy directly to medicine. He used astrological charts to determine when to administer treatments, believing certain planetary alignments enhanced or weakened the body’s receptivity.

He developed the doctrine of signatures, a belief that plants and minerals bore visible signs of their healing purpose — a heart-shaped leaf might heal heart conditions, a yellow flower might support the liver.

While this idea now lives mostly in herbalist traditions, it profoundly influenced later thinkers like Jakob Boehme and even Romantic poets who saw nature as symbolic.

The Earth is Alive: Elements, Balance, and the Fourfold Body

Far from dismissing the material world, Paracelsus rooted his healing system in the four elements — earth, water, air, fire — which he saw echoed in the human body.

To him, disease was a disharmony of elemental forces, and medicine was the art of rebalancing them.

Heretic, Visionary… or Both?

Paracelsus managed the rare feat of offending almost everyone.

The Church viewed his Hermetic leanings with suspicion. Universities scoffed at his attacks on Galenic medicine. Yet he continued to write, lecture, and practice medicine — often healing patients others had abandoned.

He is now regarded as the father of toxicology, having introduced the idea that “the dose makes the poison.” He was also one of the first to link lead content in water to goitres.

Why Paracelsus Matters Now

In today’s fragmented world — where science and spirituality are often juxtaposed — Paracelsus offers an interestiong model:

• medicine is sacred

• body is not just biology, but cosmology

• healing means harmony — not just symptom management

It’s a reminder that science doesn’t have to strip the soul from the body, nor the meaning from the universe.

He was not interested in simply cataloging ruins.

He was after meaning.

What he found over the course of fifteen years would spark both fascination and controversy:

The hypothesis that the temple’s layout corresponds precisely to the human body, not only in symbolism but in proportional design.

Today, his insights offer a radically different lens through which to view ancient Egyptian architecture—one that suggests profound anatomical, mathematical, and spiritual knowledge encoded in stone.

Who Was R.A. Schwaller de Lubicz?

René Adolphe Schwaller de Lubicz (1887–1961) was not a conventional Egyptologist. He was trained in chemistry and art and was deeply influenced by Hermeticism and Pythagorean mathematics.

His Egyptological work, particularly at Luxor, is best known through his monumental two-volume treatise, The Temple in Man, published in 1949. These works detailed his interpretation of the Luxor temple not as a mere ritual structure, but as a coded anatomical map of the human being—designed in accord with sacred geometry, astronomy, and proportion.

While mainstream archaeologists have critiqued his conclusions, many acknowledge the rigor and precision of his on-site measurements. His work is still widely studied in both alternative and academic circles interested in sacred architecture.

The Human Blueprint in Stone

According to Schwaller, the Temple of Luxor represents the human form from foot to crown. The temple's layout was not arbitrary, but intentionally aligned with human anatomy—using architectural spaces to mirror bodily structures:

• The feet: Represented by the pylon or main entrance

• The legs and hips: Correspond to the courtyard and vestibules

• The thorax (chest): Represented by the great hypostyle hall

• The head and brain: Found in the inner sanctuary, or naos

• The crown of the head: Aligned with the sanctum sanctorum, the holiest inner chamber

This alignment, Schwaller claimed, was not symbolic alone—but mathematical.

The Egyptians, he argued, were mapping both the outer body and its inner spiritual systems—similar in some respects to Indian yogic traditions.

The temple could be considered to represent an "Anthropocosmos" where the human body mirrored cosmic principles.

In Schwaller’s view, the temple was a living document: a philosophical, anatomical, and cosmological treatise carved in stone.

The Canon of Proportion

A key part of Schwaller’s interpretation rests on the Egyptian canon of proportion, which used standardized ratios to represent the human body in both sculpture and architecture.

This system was based on the royal cubit, a measurement of roughly 52.3 centimeters, which was divided into 7 palms, each containing 4 fingers. Egyptian artists and architects used this canon to create harmonious proportions in statuary, wall reliefs, and buildings alike.

“The entire temple,” Schwaller wrote, “is a book in stone whose pages we must learn to read with both precision and reverence.”

He also calculated many architectural proportions reflecting the Golden Ratio (φ ≈ 1.618), which appears throughout nature and the human body—from the spirals of galaxies and nautilus shells to the bone structure of the face and limbs.

The Golden Ratio and Human Anatomy

Schwaller’s most famous claims was that the Egyptians understood φ and intentionally embedded it within temple architecture.

Why does this matter?

Because the golden ratio is not just mathematically elegant—it’s biologically encoded:

• The ratio of the forearm to the hand

• The spacing of facial features

• The branching of blood vessels

All follow phi-based geometry. Schwaller believed this was no coincidence. The Egyptians, he argued, saw the human body as a microcosm of the universe and encoded this belief into their most sacred architecture.

Hieroglyphs and Organ Placement

Schwaller went even further.

He documented how hieroglyphic inscriptions on the temple walls appear not just artistically or randomly placed—but aligned with key organs of the human body according to the temple-anatomy blueprint.

For instance:

• Inscriptions about breath and spirit are found near the thoracic (lung) area.

• Symbols of vision and divine perception are located near where the eyes or pineal gland would fall in the head.

• Fertility and generative symbols occur near the hip and reproductive region.

This suggests that temple design wasn’t merely about aesthetics—it was about communicating a deep symbolic language, using spatial and anatomical correspondences to encode metaphysical and hidden insights.

Astronomical Alignment

The Egyptians were master astronomers. Many temples, including Luxor, are aligned to celestial events—such as the solstices or the rising of specific stars like Sirius.

Schwaller believed that this was part of a unified philosophy and cosmology:

As above, so below.
As in the stars, so in the body.

By aligning the temple to celestial rhythms while mirroring human anatomy, Luxor became a bridge or conduit of sorts between cosmos and body, sky and earth.

This dual mapping—human and cosmic—would make the temple not just a monument—but a sort of spiritual technology.

Why It Matters Today

Schwaller’s work—whether fully accepted by archaeologists or not—opens important doors.

It challenges the assumption that the ancient Egyptians were merely pragmatic builders or myth-driven priests.

Instead, it cements the fact that they possessed:

• A unified worldview connecting spirit, body, and cosmos

• A sophisticated understanding of geometry, proportion, and astronomy

• An architectural tradition not just functional, but philosophically encoded

Whether or not Luxor Temple was built precisely to Schwaller’s anatomical schema, the idea that sacred architecture reflects human and cosmic order is ancient and recurring—from Greek temples to Gothic cathedrals, from mandalas to modern sacred geometry.

Let me start off by saying this is not an attack. The new age movement is filled with many well-intentioned people—I know many of them.

The one thing we have in common is our search for Truth—its all that matters.

But in that hunger for eternal Truth, too many are being fed empty calories—catchy mantras and slogans like “raise your vibration.”

But has anyone actually stopped and thought it out?

In reality, its an ignorant falsehood cloaked in truth…

The Falsity of Raising Your Vibration

From TikTok reels to self-help seminars and the shelves of your local bookstore—it’s sighted as the key to manifesting abundance or aligning with “higher” consciousness.

And it’s big business.

The New Age industry rakes in over $376 billion per year.

It’s clean, marketable—and it sells.

But where did this mantra come from?

That is a long story in itself, but it basically goes something like this:

This thinking springs from a still-held superstition that Heaven, and therefore God, are “up there” somewhere, and by “raising” our vibration to joyousness we get out of the “lower” vibrations associated with material existence, such as fear, greed, etc.

The New Age movement basically took Hermetic Principles, which date back to ancient Greece, Egypt and India—and most likely before that—and tried to cram it into the idea of physics.

Here are some quotes from major New Age authors:

“Listening to your ego brings your vibration down; listening to your higher self brings your vibration up.” —Caroline A. Shearer (“Spiritual Author”)

“To raise your vibration, surround yourself with beauty, love and inspiration.”

— Anthon St. Maarten (Psychic Medium and “Spiritual Author”)

“Positive emotions and thoughts vibrate at higher frequencies; negative ones vibrate at lower frequencies.” — mindsetmotive.com

Let’s deconstruct this false view for the purpose of arriving at Truth.

When talking about raising your vibration, its always referred to in one of three ways: via the body, thought or spirit.

So this leaves us with our physical bodies and our thoughts.

Let’s look at it from a scientific perspective and see how utterly absurd the mantra of ‘raising your vibration’ actually is.

Waves vibrate at frequencies.

A high frequency is increased activity, and a low frequency is decreased activity.

Increasing activity multiplies heat; decreasing activity multiplies cold—pretty basic.

When one exercises, for example, they are increasing their bodily activity. The more your increase your workout’s frequency—reps, sets, intensity, etc—the more heat your body will generate.

This heat increase isn’t that much of course.

When one’s body dies, the blood stops pumping, cells stop pulsating with life and the organism begins to decompose. Lack of activity multiplies cold.

If you ever have been with a loved one when they passed, you know what I am talking about.

When our body is operating in a normal rhythm, we don’t notice it—we are in harmony.

Sometimes, our vibration increases too much.

So much in fact that it makes us down right uncomfortable.

It’s called a fever…

But wait, I thought raising our vibration brought us closer to God, not Covid…?

The Truth About Vibration

Before we talk about vibration and how it relates to thought, it would be wise to tackle what vibration actually is.

Vibrations are waves.

In Nature—waves are all that exist.

“In the wave lies the secret of creation.” — Walter Russell

The entirety of the material universe is comprised of atomic and subatomic systems—and possibly smaller. These systems are constructed solely of electrical waves compacted from larger volumes into smaller volumes.

The more tightly packed these systems become, the more waves are compressed. Compressing waves increases their frequency.

As electrical waves are compacted and their frequencies increase, they take on various characteristics, one of which is increased density:

• plasma (fire)

• gas (air)

• liquid (water)

• solid (earth)

In other words, increased motion—vibrational frequency—makes objects appear more solid while lowering their vibrational frequencies makes them more tenuous.

Let’s perform a thought experiment.

A good example is the winding up strands of yarn into a ball.

The long flowing strands of loose yearn can be likened to low frequency, long vibrations. Start winding that strand up around a central point (increasing its frequency) and gradually a ball of yarn will appear.

What you have done is take long, low frequency waves from a large volume of space, and concentrated them into a smaller volume—a higher vibrational condition.

In so doing, you have created a solid body of yarn.

God constructs suns in precisely the same manner by using light waves.

The faster an object is moving (vibrating) the more solid it appears to our senses.

The quote in the beginning of the article when like this:

“Positive emotions and thoughts vibrate at higher frequencies; negative ones vibrate at lower frequencies.”

This does not hold up in reality.

Many New Age books and sites will give you the example that happiness and joyousness are associated with Beta and Gamma states—higher frequency waves.

The truth, that they always leave out, most likely due to ignorance, is that brain scans show that fear and anger are found in Alpha, Beta and Gamma states—the region of the brain in which they manifest is different, however.

And it makes sense—jumping for joy and being ecstatic of course is a high vibrational mental state—and it’s effect can be seen in the body by increased heartbeat, alertness, bodily movement, etc.

Fear and anger—low vibrational according to the New Age Movement—in fact isn’t low at all. It involves our fight and flight mechanisms.

Whether in a fear state—running from a lion—or an anger state—in a fight—the activity (frequency) of thought and action increases.

That said, there IS a difference between the vibrations of LOVE and FEAR.

The emotions of love and happiness operate at the same frequencies as hate and fear, however the wave frequencies of positive emotions were found to be rhythmic and harmonic whereas the wave frequencies of negative emotions are always broken up, syncopated and discordant.

That is the answer we have been seeking.

Rhythm and harmony

The state of mind which the New Age seeks isn’t found in raising one’s vibration—it’s found is being in a rhythmic harmony with both higher and lower vibrations.

In other words, the key we are searching after is BALANCE.

That was certainly the case for a man walking the dusty streets of ancient Croton some 2,500 years ago.

His name was Pythagoras.

To most of us, he’s the guy behind the triangle equation:
a² + b² = c².
But to those who’ve dug deeper, he was much more — a philosopher, a mystic, and founder of one of the most enigmatic spiritual schools of the ancient world.

But his most world-changing discovery didn’t come from a classroom or a ritual.

It came from a blacksmith’s forge.

The Harmony in the Noise

Legend has it, Pythagoras was out on a walk when he passed a blacksmith’s workshop. Inside, hammers were clanging against anvils — loudly and seemingly chaotic.

But something strange caught his ear.

Not all the hammer strikes sounded the same. Some hammers, when struck, created tones that were surprisingly pleasant — as if buried inside the noise was a kind of order.

A harmony.

Curious, he stepped inside to investigate.

He listened carefully, examined the tools and weighed the hammers.

He had a revelation...

A Monumental Discovery

Four hammers stood out. They sounded different from the rest — and from one another.

After weighing them, Pythagoras found their masses to be in perfect mathematical proportions:
12, 9, 8, and 6 pounds

And when he compared how they sounded in pairs, he realized:

• A 2:1 ratio (like 12 and 6) produced an octave

• A 3:2 ratio (like 9 and 6) gave a perfect fifth

• A 4:3 ratio (like 8 and 6) created a perfect fourth

Harmony of the Heavens

He didn’t stop at hammer tones, he carried the idea further — much further.

If musical intervals could be explained by numbers… what else could?

He began to realize the universe itself as composed through harmony — governed by the same ratios that gave music its structure. This insight birthed one of the most influential ideas in the history of Western thought:

The Music of the Spheres

According to Pythagoras, the planets didn’t just move — they sang. Their motion through the heavens produces vibrations, and those vibrations form a kind of cosmic symphony.

He even mapped them to musical notes:

• Moon: C

• Mercury: D

• Venus: E

• Sun: F

• Mars: G

• Jupiter: A

• Saturn: B

In fact, the total range of human hearing is not that much — 20 Hz to 20000 Hz. For instance, piano frequency range is 27.5 Hz to 4186 Hz.

The cosmic symphony of the Music of the Spheres is as imperceptible to us as the symphonies of small insects.

From Myth to Modernity

This blend of mysticism and mathematics didn’t end in ancient Greece.

The impact of Pythagoras’s ideas rippled through the Renaissance and beyond. Thinkers like Kepler, Newton, and even Einstein were drawn to the notion that the universe runs on elegant, discoverable first principles.

The Divine Trinity

You’ve heard it time and again: focus harder — expand our minds — think outside the box. But most of us never consider the structure and mechanics of thinking itself — or the process.

This article is a framework rooted in how God thinks: the Triune process of concentration (1) and decentration (2), both anchored by a fulcrum (3)—the motionless source of your knowledge from which all thought manifests.

The Components of Thought

Concentration: The Focused Condition of Thinking

Concentration is the compressive, positive condition of thought. Like a magnifying glass focusing a large volume of light to a point — it focuses thought energy to a point.

Concentration is multiplication — its gravitative.

In the context of thinking, concentration always produces thought bodies. Thought bodies are either mental images or sounds.

“The Soul never thinks without an image.”

Decentration: The Expanded Condition of Thinking

The equal and opposite of concentration is decentration — the expansive, negative half of the thought process. This is not “negative” in a bad way, but in the sense of releasing pressure or relaxing tension.

This is the state of mind when you daydream, when solutions come to you unexpectedly. Its that state of mind in which one could be called 'absentminded’.

Decentration is division — a release — its radiative.

If concentration is the act of generating the seeds thought body, decentration is the act of scattering the seeds so they may produce more of their kind.

The Fulcrum: Your Mind

Neither concentration nor decentration can exist on their own. Like the ends of a seesaw, they require a stable center. If fact, without that unmoving center, the seesaw couldn’t move, the universe couldn’t move, and you couldn’t think.

That center is the FULCRUM — your MIND.

And centering your MIND is DESIRE — the motivating source of thought.

This fulcrum is the motionless, silent source of energy, power, love and IDEA which all thought and motion SIMULATE.

The fulcrum is like the still hub of a wheel. Extended from it’s non-dimensional source are the eternal qualities of Mind — eternally expressed in moving quantities which are simulating those qualities.

The fulcrum of thought is dimensionless, vibrationless and still.

Because it is still it doesn’t move.

Because it doesn’t move it doesn’t change.

Because it doesn’t change —

It is ETERNAL.

GOD is MIND.

In thinking, the fulcrum is not another "mode" of thought—it’s the origin of thought. It’s the place you return to when you meditate and pause before speaking. It is the still center where you balance yourself before beginning another cycle of thought.

The Electric Thought Wave

Thoughts are waves. Waves are expressions of its still fulcrum.

The concentrative half of the thought cycle compresses and polarizes potential into a body at a wave amplitude (crest). The decentrative half ‘unwind’s and depolarizes that potential back to the static fulcrum — which then oscillates back to the concentrative half of the thought cycle — compressing and polarizing another body at the opposite wave amplitude (trough).

Mind qualities are eternal.

Thought quantities are eternally repeated.

God’s thought process and yours are ONE.

How to Think from the Mind

In essence — thinking from one’s Mind — really means EQUALLY BALANCING one’s thinking concentratively and decentratively.

Waves are rhythmic.

So is everything in your life: your breathing, heartbeat, circadian rhythm, peristalsis of digestion, circadian rhythm, hormonal cycles, mensuration, etc.

To mimic Nature, and to think from your Mind, one’s thinking should be rhythmic and balanced.

When you become aware of your inner fulcrum (peace), you align with the natural rhythm of intelligence (God Mind) itself and can begin to control the storms of ones Mind.

"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." — Jesus the Nazarene, John 14:27

A test you can use is this —

When you are doing any sort of work whatsoever, does time seem to fly by? As an athlete, have you ever been ‘in the zone’?

When one is thinking balanced and rhythmically with God, one reflects God’s qualities of: Love, Harmony, Inspiration, and Beauty.

When we are in that rhythm, we experience the God quality of ‘timelessness’ — or eternity.

If you are feeling frustrated, tired or stressed, you have let your mental pendulum swing too far by concentrating too much or by decentrating too much — identify it and swing your pendulum the other way.

• Am I concentrating too much/overthinking?

• Am I drifting in the expansive/dreaming without action?

• Or have I forgotten the still center entirely?
